The big white polar bear is an excellent swimmer and hunts seals from floating ice in the winter. The polar bear can go months without eating in the summer when the ice melts and leaves them without a place to hunt.

Polar Bear Diet

Polar bears are carnivores and mostly eat seals. The Arctic circle is home to millions of seals, so when there is ice to use for hunting – the polar bear is generally well

fed.
