The jaguar is the top predator in the jungle and lives in Central and South America in the rainforests. It is a very powerful hunter and is a strict
carnivore. It is one of the biggest cats on Earth and only the lion and the tiger are bigger. It looks very much like a cheetah but is more powerful and deadly. There is no other predator that hunts the jaguar besides humans.
The Jaguar
The jaguar can reach speeds of up to 60 mph, although 30-40 mph is more typical. The
physical characteristics of the jaguar include a spotted coat, short and stocky limbs, able to climb and swim well, and a very strong bite.
