Another mammal species that prefers the cold northern lands is the reindeer or caribou. Reindeer are herd animals and live in groups of thousands during their migration when they travel more than 3000 miles to find better sources of food.

Reindeer

Male reindeer will shed their antlers in the late fall and grow new ones the next spring. Female reindeer usually keep their antlers

through the winter.
