In Japan there is a monkey called the Japanese macaque that also lives high in the mountains. They are also called the Snow Monkey because the mountains get very cold in the winter.

Sometimes tourists will see these red-faced monkeys sitting in the natural hot springs to keep warm.

Snow Monkey

The temperature outside is a frigid - 15ºF. But the smart little monkey knows how to stay warm! Hot Tub! These monkeys live in troops of 20-100 individuals and eat berries, eggs, seeds, and bugs.
