The manatee lives in the shallow

waters of the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. They can weigh up to 1200 pounds and are about 10 feet in length. Most of the time they swim slowly, about 3- 5 mph, but can sprint at speeds up to 20 miles per hour if necessary.

herbivore diet.
